First Steps: Ensuring Proper Connection and Functionality

Before diving into troubleshooting, ensure all connections are secure and your equipment is functioning correctly.

Fitness Audio U-Series UHF Receiver

  • Power Check: Confirm the power light is on. Ensure the power pack is plugged in securely and turned on at the outlet.
  • Antenna Setup: Attach the supplied antennas and position them upright, ensuring a clear line of sight to the instructor.
  • Transmitter Connection: Check for RF Signal lights and the A/B Diversity light on the receiver. Ensure the channels match. See the U-Series Receiver & Transmitter Manual.

  • Battery Status: Verify the red battery light flashes once upon switching on. If not, replace or recharge the battery.
  • Mic Socket: Ensure the mic socket is secure and all pins are intact.
  • Transmitter-Receiver Connection: Match the transmitter's channel (under the battery cover) with the receiver’s. Refer to the Quick Start Guide.

  • Battery Check: Confirm the blue battery light is on. Replace the battery if the light flashes.
  • Channel Matching: Ensure the transmitter's channel matches the receiver’s.
  • Mic Connection: Align the arrow on the mic plug with the triangle on the transmitter socket. See the U-Series Manual.

  • Power and Antenna Check: Ensure the power light is on and antennas are upright with a clear line of sight.
  • Transmitter Connection: Confirm RF Signal indicators are active. Match the receiver and transmitter channels. See the D-Series Manual.

  • Battery and Connection Checks: Verify the battery indicator shows sufficient charge. Inspect the mic socket for security and intact pins.
  • Channel Alignment: Match transmitter and receiver channels, ensuring proper signal activity. Adjust battery type settings for rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries.

Microphone Troubleshooting (Aeromic, Cyclemic & EMic)

  • Physical Condition: Check for damage to the mic lead or connectors.
  • New Microphones: Confirm the connector is wired correctly for your transmitter model. Consult the Aeromic & Cyclemic Instructions.
  • Audio Signal: Ensure there is AF activity on the receiver. Adjust mixer and amp volumes if necessary.

Common Mic Issues and Solutions

  • Crackling or Weak Sound: The capsule may need replacement.
  • Signal Drops: Change channels to avoid interference. Ensure strong, quality batteries are used.
  • Feedback Noise: Adjust mic gain and mixer settings. Avoid standing too close to speakers.
